 Welcome  : : : : : : : :

Welcome to AMBERGREEN Classical.A website containing nearly four thousand classical, contemporary and music records...The LP's on sale here are of a high standard...Literally hundreds are rejected in the selection process, leaving only records considered of good enough quality and interest. Many are in near mint condition, which is Ambergreen's top grade for 'used' records unless the record is still sealed in selophane. In the unlikely event of dissatisfaction a no quibble refund is offered. The hope is you enjoy browsing this website, which is regularly being updated with new stock.

In listing these records certain Abbreviations are used.
PI = period instrument recording;
NSM = non sounding mark;
ED1,2 etc = this refers to the edition;
DMM = Direct Metal Mastering;
Mottling = brown spotting of card or paper;
Ring/Shelfwear = outline of record on cover due to mistorage;
Stereo/Quad = plays in stereo & in quadraphonic too,with quad equipment;
TAS listed (
to view the TAS list click on this link) http://www.high-endaudio.com/supreme.html

JM10 = James Mitchell recomendation from "The Golden Era Of RCA Records".

Often there are lyric/information inserts within sleeves and box sets; and booklets or other material. These are only referred to if they are missing, otherwise they should be included. Also we state if a recording is digital or mono. With mono recordings we will say if it's 'mono only' or if there is a stereo version too...Please bear in mind that Ambergreen Classical is not infallible in these matters and may get things wrong on rare occasions.

Information.
The aim is to give plenty of relevant information in the listings to help the buyer, and this sometimes includes track and artist details. Often the record covers carry this information. Therefore access photos by clicking once to view and once again to enlarge.

Record Grading.
Initially prior to listing, records get tested on very good quality equipment
if they have any suspicious marks etc. It's not possible to playcheck all the records at this time but all will have been graded visually in good light.///. Once an order has been placed it's now the norm for those records to have sections (not usually the whole record/s) played/checked for sound quality.This will usually weed out any poor sounding records prior to dispatch. If a problem is found the buyer can then be contacted and can advise on how to proceed. It is a top priority to send only those records that fully match their descriptions. And to provide quality records without defects.

Mint = Sealed Copy only.

Near Mint = As close to new as possible with no blemishes/faults.Vinyl will be unmarked and play without any problems.

Excellent = Cover may have light wear with no major faults.Or may have other small imperfections such as small stickers.Often these will be described in the listing.Will be very presentable.Vinyl will have non sounding marks/scuffs (often described).Should play close to near mint.

Very good = Cover has noticeable wear but still acceptable.Vinyl will have marks,some that will sound,or defects in playback such as surface noise.These will be described.

+ or - used for inbetween grading.

Cover and contents graded first then vinyl,so EX/NM would be cover excellent condition and vinyl near mint condition.

All records are graded according to the same criteria.No allowances are made for older items.

Record Cleaning.
We use a Loricraft PRC3 record cleaner. This machine is state of the art and gives great results, it is being used with "L'Art Du Son" cleaning solution, which is a special formula containing no alcohol.///.Vinyl record order's are cleaned free of charge prior to dispatch. This also enables the records to be closely inspected. Please bear in mind that sometimes due to the volume of orders not all records can be cleaned. E-mail if you specifically want this service. Records can be posted or brought to Bristol for cleaning by appointment. The cost is £1.50 per disc including a new anti-static inner.

POSTAGE.
The cost is calculated by weight using Royal Mail services and there are three Zones to chose from; UK, Europe, Rest of the World. Usually the cost is the same for the first one to three records,rising slowly after that. There is a step up in price if an order is just over 2 kilos,and then there is relatively little extra cost for extra weight after that. On average 1 LP is 250 gms and with box sets the box counts as one extra LP. There are a some exceptions such as if the contents is exceptionally heavy.

With all parcels insurance of up to £30.00 is included in the price and we always get a 'proof of postage' form stamped at the Post Office. Extra insurance of £250 is also offered on all parcels too;Simply click on the right zone with the extra insurance option added to the price when you view your shopping basket.

If you have an alternative way of posting/shipping (including surface mail) that you would like to use please let me know by e-mail or phone. Do not place an order until you have discussed things first.You can E-mail us at ambergreenclassical@yahoo.com Or phone 0117 378 9645 Finally;discounts on certain items may be available.Please contact Ambergreen for further details.
